Milwaukee Public Market

Greetings Milwaukee!

Bill Crowley at the Milwaukee Public Market

You’re out and about with a group of friends, you all agree on the pressing need to stop somewhere for a bite to eat, but each person seems to be in the mood for something different.  What’s to be done?  Rather than come to blows in the streets, or worse yet, ending up at some bland, generic compromise that actually pleases no one and leaves everyone examining the wrong turns in life that led them to such misery, there is another way.  A better way.  I am talking, of course, about the Milwaukee Public Market.  With 17 different local vendors, the market has something for every taste or craving ranging from seafood at St. Paul Fish Company, fresh baked sweets at C. Adam’s Bakery, to tasty Mexican at Margarita Paradise.  Foods can be purchased to be eaten in one of the market’s several sitting areas or taken to go.  Aside from food, you can find specialty vendors offering an extensive selection of items including gourmet olive oil, spices, and roasted coffee.

The Public Market also hosts a wide variety of events and cooking classes catering to a vast range of interests.  I myself recently partook in an extremely well attended (and well stocked) wine tasting event featuring over 100 options to try that will definitely have me coming back next year!

As far as getting to the market, there is ample parking in the area, and it just so happens that there is a street car stop right at the entrance as well.  To get a bird’s eye view of the goings on, just locate the elevator to the second floor Palm Garden and indulge your taste buds as you plan the route to your next purchase!
